Winners of 6 out of their last 8, the Philadelphia 76ers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Led by big Joel ‘JoJo’ Embiid, the sixers were able to close out a victory over the second best team in the Eastern Conference, the Toronto Raptors.
We’re thinking playoffs, baby! The team currently sits 6 games outside of the 8 seed with the all star break coming quickly(1). The big story is that “The Process” is paying off. Hopeful of an NBA allstar selection in his first season, Joel Embiid is averaging just under 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks while playing only 25 minutes per game(2). Another first year player, Croation Dario Sarić, is making a huge impact early in his career. ‘The Homie’ is a hustle player and key part of any championship team. Last night, he hit a clutch three and made a huge block on Jared Sullinger to all but seal a Sixers victory.
Philadelphia fans have a lot to look forward to with No. 1 overall draft pick, Ben Simmons reportedly making his first appearance shortly after the all star break. Embiid might play in his first of what could be many all star games. The Sixers continue to win games and for the first time in 3+ years, there is hope!

Editors Note: Embiid has been snubbed from the All Star Game, the NBA has made it clear that it remains to be a popularity contest for big names and long resumes. However, we will see Embiid, Saric, even Okafor in the rising stars game between rookies and second year players. Where is TJ Mconnell?!??
